I have to say that stripes are hands down one of my favourite
styles and patterns to wear, they always look so effortlessly cool and
just make me feel so good about myself. I've always been a big wearer of
stripes, and so when the sweethearts over at farfetch contacted me saying they’d
created a new infographic to help their readers pick their perfect stripes for
this spring/summer season and if I wanted to share it with my readers, I couldn't wait!
I personally think that everyone can pull off stripes in some
shape or form; it’s all about finding what is best suited for you. It’s also
about what you like and want to wear; if it makes you feel good then ignore
what anyone else may think. If you prefer wearing monochrome clothing, then you’ll
probably be the same as I am and rock a good old fashioned black and white stripe.
One of my favourite tops that I've ever owned was a black and white loose
material v neck t-shirt, it was so flattering and went with whatever I paired
it with (I then stupidly dyed my hair in it one day and it went EVERYWHERE and now
I use it to dry my hair) so it’s all about finding what works for you. If you
find that you wear much brighter/ colourful clothing day to day then you should
definitely try something that bit ‘louder’ in terms of stripes, look at the
example in the infographic and if it gives you all the feels then you know you’re
heading in the right direction! I personally find that coloured stripes are the
most daring and so if you’re braver than I am (most people are) you should give
them a go.
The last ‘Audrey Hepburn’ style stripes are admittedly not
something that I've ever personally considered, but after really looking at
them I have to say I’m really intrigued to try them out myself. They definitely
are what I’d consider as spring/summer stripes, the fact that they aren't too in
your face but are a lot lighter than a lot of the clothing I own really does appeal
to me. It’s certainly something I’m going to keep my eyes open for the next
time I go shopping!
So although I’m fully aware that the classic black and white
stripes are my idea of stripe heaven, the infographic has made me aware of all
the different stripes there are and ways that you can wear them which means I
have no excuses not to experiment a bit.
What type of stripes do you love?
Now you've probably already heard a lot about this in the blogging world recently, but I thought why not share my own opinion on it? Honestly, I've never been a rep lipstick wearer and that isn't because I don't want to. I think it looks absolutely ridiculous on me and so I just gave up in the end, but then I found this little gem and my opinions have changed.
This is the Bourjois rouge edition velvet lipstick (bit of a mouthful I know) and I have it in the shade frambourjois and right now it is my favourite lip product EVER. This is a bold statement I know, but I will explain why...
The shade is a deep red, bright but not too bright. It's matte, which I think is a big factor on why I love this so much as I'd never really considered a matte red. I really should of thought of this sooner because then all my heartbreak over never having a good red lippy would have ended earlier and it would have been happily ever after. I find if I do a layer and leave it to dry and then build a few layers on that I have the perfect red shade that lasts me all day and night, but then it comes off a treat when I wash all of my make-up off.
I was super pants last month and didn't post a large amount towards the end, and then I realised that I hadn't done a post on January and now its March and I am a terrible blogger. Feel free to judge me, I wouldn't blame you! I didn't actually take a whole lot of photos in January, but February there was a lot more so I thought I'd do the two together.
I tried to cram in as many photos as I possibly could without making it look to messy, there were so many more photos that I wanted to include but this post would end up being way to long and I don't want to bore you all with my life story!
The first photo is of the beautiful flowers that Adam got me for Valentines day, he'd taken note the month before that lilies are some of my favourite flowers. The man did good! Then he took me out that evening for some amazing food at Chiquitos, and the second photo is of some of the cocktails we decided to get with our meals and the vodka and raspberry one that I had was probably one of the best things I have EVER DRUNK IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, I miss that drink.
I went out for a Costa catch up with one of my favourite females in the world and we literally just sat chilled, talked and laughed the whole day and it was just lovely being able to catch up with her as we don't get to see much of each other but when we do it's like nothing has changed. My closest friends and I went out for a meal and then went back to Adam's flat and had a few drinks and played cards against humanity (if you haven't played it yet and you have a messed up sense of humor then I recommend it!) and it was a really fun and brilliant night.
I also got my new camera in February and it is so amazing, I can't wait to go out and give it a spin, I'm genuinely craving some sort of day out or occasion so I can use it!
Lastly, in January my 2 best friends finally gave birth to my absolutely beautiful god son/ surrogate nephew. I've covered his face up because he's only a little baby and I'm not going to post his face on my blog so you'll all have to take my word for it when I say he is the most stunning little angel in the whole world. I'm head over heels in-love with him and so proud of my friends.
So that's all you really need to know about my last few months, how were your January and February?
