music to my ears #11

I have been pretty M.I.A recently (whats new?!) but if you've seen my life this month post, then you'll see that I've been up to all different bits and pieces recently and it's only going to continue up into the new year. Exciting weeks are coming up! Anyway, before I go off about all the fun and exciting things I should probably share some of my favourite songs this month. Maroon 5 are always there and will always be there, simply because they are Maroon bloody 5 and I love them all. This however, is probably one of my top songs off of the album. Although they are all absolute belters.
If you haven't heard, Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe has recently come together with genius of a director that is Nicolas Winding Refn to redo the music to the film drive (which is one of my favourite films). When myself and my boyfriend heard about this, we were both so excited because; we love drive, we love radio 1 and Zane Lowe, and we love all of the artists that they decided to use and I love Ryan Gosling so it was a win win experience. If you haven't watched Drive then watch the original or the radio 1 version because it is such a dark but BEAUTIFULLY shot film, top marks Refn. Anyway, everyone was raving about the 1975 song, but for me the winners were Bastille. As you can hear from this song, it is clear why. When I watched Divergent when it first came out, this song stuck out most to me and I've rekindled my love for it! Then of course there is clean bandit, who are always fab.

Also, just as a cheeky shout out. A pal of mine Ross makes house, dance and EDM mixes and DJing and is super super talented. I personally think that his mixes are fab and I would be the first to say if they were terrible because I'm a douche. Whether you're into dance music or not it's definitely worth checking out because you may find something new that you love and who doesn't love that?! Also it's the perfect type of track to play this Christmas if you're getting ready for a night out for a Christmas party or throwing a new years eve party, so give it a go! Click the link Here
